Working smoke alarms alerts neighbours in Brighton.

Installed smoke alarms activated and alerted neighbours to the fire who rang OOO.

Firefighters tackled the fire on the second storey of a three storey block of units.

The two bedroom unit was been extensively damaged, with the fire being contained to the lounge room. The remainder of the unit has suffered heat and smoke damage.

The occupant of the premises was not at home when the fire broke out.

Residents from the adjoining units self evacuated without injury.
