Young man lucky to escape unharmed as police notice fire at Reservoir unit.

Police were passing at the time of the fire and managed to bang on the window of the unit awakening the resident, who subsequently escaped unharmed.

The blaze is believed to have started in the garage of the single storey unit and quickly spread via the roof area.

The fire was brought under control in thirty minutes and the damage bill has been estimated at one hundred thousand dollars.

The MFB Fire Investigation Unit will attend at first light to determine a cause.
