Recruitment

Offer of Employment

An applicant selected for employment will be made a formal offer of employment in writing, including details on when and where to commence training as a recruit firefighter.

Successful applicants will be expected to attend an induction evening prior to the commencement of the recruit course.

A three month probationary period will apply.

Upon acceptance of the offer of employment applicants who do not possess a heavy rigid (HR) driving licence will be required to obtain one prior to commencing employment.  MFB will make arrangements for, and incur the cost associated with, a participant undertaking one complete heavy rigid driver’s licence test at a recommended VicRoads accredited driving school.  The arrangements for, and costs of, any additional program will be borne by the applicant.
