Prerequisite:

To enrol in this course, participants must have completed PUAEME001B Provide Emergency Care or the equivalent (Please provide evidence or a copy of your current first aid certificate with your booking form)

 

Content:

This course is designed for people assigned as Safety Officers for Public Events. The course is structured to comply with the roles and responsibilities of the position as detailed in the Building Regulations Part 11 – 1105.

The Safety Officer has to be able to check the safety of the public place before the event commences and to be in attendance during the event to identify and respond to any safety matters.

The Course in Place of Public Entertainment Safety Officer consists of 4 mandatory units of competency: 

  1. VPAU821 – Verify the operation of the fire safety elements, equipment and systems
  2. VPAU822 – Control the use of naked flame
  3. PUAWER004B – Respond to workplace emergencies
  4. PUAWER008B – Confine small workplace emergencies

The MFB is a Registered Training Organisation. This course is registered with the Victorian Registration & Qualifications Authority. Participants who successfully demonstrate competence will be awarded a Statement of Attainment recognising the units completed in completion of 22017VIC Course in Place of Public Entertainment, Safety Officer.
